Oprah Winfrey Says She is ‘Deeply Sorry’
The Washington Post writes here: "Oprah Winfrey said today she is "deeply sorry" for giving the impression she is not concerned with the truth by continuing to defend a memoir she had endorsed after it was exposed as partially fabricated."
"Two weeks after standing by author James Frey’s exaggerated tale of crime and drugs, the talk show queen reversed herself this morning, following a spate of newspaper editorials and columns assailing her credibility. Winfrey’s declaration that she had been "duped" also comes two days after the New York Times reported that her producers had been told before Winfrey embraced "A Million Little Pieces" that the book distorted reality."
