Americans Increasingly Divided Over Iraq
Washington Post reports here: The American public is sharply divided over whether to set a deadline for withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq, as military casualties mount and the insurgency shows little sign of ending its bloody terror campaign, according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll.
I’m a democrat (lacking another viable alternative to the Donkey party). And, if it were any other situation where we may have been “participating” in an occupation, I’d be strongly in favor of an eventual pull-out.
However, we created this mess– against world opinion. It would be a travesty and a should-be-punishable crime to drop our security shield and turn our backs on Iraq before the present and continuing struggle against insurgency and civil war can be controlled by its own security forces.
